Glasstream 228

Turn heads in 2009!

FSF Staff January 23, 2009

The quality construction and craftsmanship of the Glasstream 228 is evident upon first glance, and even more so after a close, hard look! Built to last and manufactured with 100-percent wood-free construction techniques, everything from the upholstery to rub-rail is fabricated from durable, weather-resistant materials. The 228 provides a pleasing ride and solid platform as the deck and hull are completely glassed together over a molded, foam-filled, fiberglass grid system. From bow to stern the 228, like all Glasstream models, is overbuilt and designed to handle whatever Mother Nature can throw at her. Include a 10-year hull warranty and long list of standard make sense amenities, and Glasstream has hit the proverbial nail on the head when it comes to producing mid-size semi-custom center-consoles.

Glasstream 228

The 228’s hull features a step that dramatically improves handling and performance by reducing overall drag and initiating lift – awesome features for a family friendly center-console in this size range. The end result is a fast, dry and soft ride. The design behind the Glasstream hull was based on a 1988 race prototype developed by boat builder, A.L. Kirkland. This was one of the first hulls of its kind and although it was perceived as radical technology at the time – stepped hulls are now the trend for high-performance deep-V boats. Glasstream continues to dedicate themselves toward producing a high-quality product with a proven record of performance and efficiencies. If you’re in the market for a versatile platform in the low 20s and you’re one of those who won’t settle for less then the best, you owe it to yourself to check out Glasstream’s 228.
