July/August Northwest Fishing Forecast (Panhandle):
By: Captain John Rivers - Mega-Bite Inshore Charters
Apply some sunscreen and fuel up your boat baby because summer has arrived! Not only is it hot outside, but the action on the water has been on fire! July and August are exceptionally hot months, and what’s a better way to start the morning than having a fat trout crash your top-water plug? In the summer months, hitting the flats early on can be extremely productive – you just have to watch the tides and fish either early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

July/August West Central Fishing Forecast:
By: Captain Marc Noe - Florida Fishing Charters
It’s that time of year again when the early mornings and late afternoons offer the most comfortable conditions to be out on the water. This is not to say that you can’t catch fish during the middle of the day, it is just going to be scorching hot as the mid-day sun cranks up the heat. Tarpon, snook, redfish and trout will be the main targets for inshore anglers, and offshore anglers who make the long run to the deeper-waters of the Gulf will be justly rewarded with quality catches of grouper, snapper, amberjack and a wide variety of other hard-pulling bottom dwellers. Summertime in West Central Florida means one thing – anglers from around the world will be visiting our area to take advantage of the fantastic fishing opportunities this region has to offer. If you haven’t already done so, now’s the time to make those reservations and join in on the fun and exciting angling adventures this region has to offer!

July/August Southwest Fishing Forecast:
By: Captain John Stark - Fly Fishing The Everglades
The months of July and August offer Southwest Florida anglers some of the best opportunities of the entire year. The key to catching fish during these months is to get out on the water early in the morning while it is still tolerable, as rising air and water temperatures will send the game fish we seek on the move to deeper, cooler locales. Anglers can expect quality top-water action first thing in the morning, followed by severe thunderstorms in the early afternoon, and then more superb action just before dusk.

July/August Upper Keys Fishing Forecast:
Captain George Clark, Jr. - Rodeo Charters
I can vividly recall childhood summers in the Keys, with the excitement of getting out of school for a few months and experiencing some super-exciting fishing. Boy was it great! Every July we were dialed into the dolphin with early mornings finding us cruising offshore in search of tasty fillets. It wouldn’t take long for a rigger clip to pop or a flat line to start screaming as off in the distance we would see a colorful ‘phin dancing on the surface. Talk about fun!

Middle Keys Fishing Forecast: July/August |

July/August Middle Keys Fishing Report:
Captain Bob Brown- Sundance Sport Fishing
As fuel prices reach record levels many anglers are turning to their favorite inshore haunts to get their fishing fix. Around the Middle Keys there are plenty of inshore venues that offer great action this time of year, and as far as big-game fishing goes, there will still be some large tarpon in the area through early July. I suggest you target these monster megalops in the early mornings, sight-casting live crabs to the moving schools of fish. By August, the larger fish will have migrated north, but a fight with a 50-pound tarpon is not out of the question. Permit and bonefish should be active on the shallows, especially around the ocean-side flats of Grassy Key and the bayside flats around Spanish Harbor Channel. When targeting these highly-prized light-tackle targets, it is best to fish the early morning and evening tidal changes.

July/August Lower Keys Fishing Report:
By: Captain Andrew Tipler - Last Cast Charters
Summer is here and one thing is for sure, the fishing will be as blistering as the tropical sun! During the months of July and August, success can be as simple as concentrating your efforts early and late in the day. Fishing under the light of the moon takes off with midday relegated to relaxing in the shade, perhaps with a frozen concoction and fine cigar. For those of you that have had the opportunity to visit the Keys during the winter but were blown away by high winds and rough seas, now is the time to get in on some fantastic summer fishing. Calm seas and light winds offer visitors the perfect conditions to venture offshore. Just remember to protect yourself from the scorching sun and drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
