Hot June Fishing!

On my last report I mentioned that the action had slowed a bit. Fortunately that slow period didn't linger very long. Over the last couple of weeks action as been very good. June is normally a month were anglers have to decide between fishing over the edge of the reefs or running offshore in search of dolphin and wahoo.

Hot weather has been the norm recently and fishing has been just as hot. Early in the day blackfin tunas have been biting and double to quad hookups have been then norm. Mixed in with the tunas are kingfish, most of the kingfish have been in the 15-30lb range which is bigger than the norm this time of year.

Large schools have been moving up and down the coast as anglers get shots at them with flies and live crabs. Most of our Tarpon fishing has been for smaller Tarpon in the bay. Most days they eat whatever you throw.

Tarpon bite is hot..hot..hot

The tarpon fishing is in high gear. During the day, dead bait is the ticket. After dark, crabs can't be beat. In the park the cuts are still holding trout, snapper and tarpon.
