INSHORE and OFFSHORE fishing reports
JULY 3, 2008
INSHORE - There is a lot going on this week to keep anglers busy starting with the schools if bonita and spanish mackerel around the Ft. Pierce Inlet and in the Turning Basin. A small silver spoon fished on light tackle will give you all the fight you need. And, I am still getting reports of kingfish mixed in with the bonita and spanish. The catch and release snook action has been good with most of the fish coming from the Ft. Pierce Inlet but, I am getting reports of some nice snook on the flats and a live bait seems to be the ticket If it is trout you are looking for then you need to get up early and be on the flats and ready to fish before daylight.

May/June Northern Bahamas Fishing Forecast:Captain Chris Agardy – Conch Tales Charters
Northern Bahamas: Grand Bahama, The Abacos, The and Bimini.
On the west side of Grand Bahama, Mosby Vogler (www.grandbahamabonefishing.com) says that grey ghosts can be found foraging on the deeper flats-edges seeking refuge from the warm water temperatures. He expects that visiting anglers will encounter smaller bones in July and early August, with larger fish revealing their presence towards the end of the forecast period. Target your efforts around flooding tides as the slightly cooler water is pushed back onto the flats.

July/August Northeast Fishing Forecast:
by: Captain Jim Hammond - Hammond Fishing Charters
During the months of July and August, North Florida anglers should have a firm grip on the areas live bait populations. Whether inshore or off, bait pods will be schooled up in tight concentrations. This means anglers can have loads of fun targeting the predatory game fish that will be foraging near these large schools. Birds are by far the best way to locate bait pods so keep a look out for terns, gannets and frigates on the offshore scene, and pelicans, gulls and cormorants on the inshore backwaters.
