Water levels are starting to drop finally and the Reds are
beginning to school up on the flats in great numbers. Today we were
able to fish the flats by site casting. The water not only has dropped
but its clear to. This is when I get excited about fishing. Spin or Fly
it doesn't matter, when the fish stack up like this on the flats the
fishing is on...As long as the winds allow us to get out, the fishing
will be good.

Well the winds blew again today as we targeted Redfish on the flats. It always seems that when you want to target a certain style or type of fishing the odds are the conditions will always work against you. For instance if you want the wind to blow on a perfectly calm day...grab the fly rod, it is certain to blow then. Never the less we still had a good day and put 6 fish in the boat any way.

Fishing today was tough as the winds blew on us at 15 knots The fish seemed to be holding along shore lines and around points or deep holes. The winds will drop back off in the next day or so and the bite should pick back up. Today we only caught 2 Reds and the 2 areas that did seem to hold fish, only had a small group that liked to run from the boat. Live shrimp was the best bait for us today, spoons and fake baits didn't work.
