Have you seen the new bridge at Siskiyou Lake? What a prize for the Mount Shasta community and the tourist who frequent the lake for summer vacation pleasure.
Carola and I love to go down to Lake Siskiyou on our days off and just hang out with our dog Kobe Beef. This is one of California’s most beautiful and cleanest lakes, you may want to check out the annual 4th of July Hex Hatch that comes out just before dark. (The largest Mayfly known to man, about 4 inches long and trout love them like lobster!) Hope to see you on the North Shore! jt & ct
With almost 3 months of guiding under our belts or half our season here in United States, it sure has been a wonderful year so far. Guiding all you folks is what I’m talking about, with the likes of other talented guides from Team Trout like Forest Brizendine. Of course behind the scenes Ma-Trout Carola has been whipping up some fabulous and fun gourmet stream side lunches, making all us much more productive and successful out on the North State Rivers of California. It’s a Team
Trout effort taking care of all of you to the betterment of our wonderful area that encompasses the mountain towns of Dunsmuir, McCloud and Mount Shasta. Our community will win you over with our fantastic restaurants and brew pubs as well as our lodging, vacation rentals homes and 5 star resort on Lake Siskiyou.
This is California’s Full Service Tourist Destination Community, we are different from any other place in the State of California, let us show you how!
We value your tourist dollars and we pride ourselves in being the freindliest California mountain towns without the Tahoe crowds.
“We’re like all the best tourist areas of California wrapped up in one great big 14,162 foot present just for you!”
The fishing this summer just couldn’t be better, at least George and Nathan Paris think so!
Are we having any fun yet?
Fly fishing off the back of the boat in mild flows is the way to go folks! Makes one feel like a kid again....
The waters that flow from the snow pack of Mount Shasta feeds the farmlands of California and the United States.
Off in the distance our national bird stands proud watching us float by...
Made in America - In my 20th year of building this guide service, rest assure no one else helped me build this small business other than me and YOU!
I’ve survived some awkward times through hard work, determination and drive to always keep my credit rating perfect and keep my home as no one else helped me.
Just had to get that off my chest, as a true small business owner with my only debt now being my house payment, no one helped me or directed me in this direction, I did it to make me and my wives lives more comfortable. As a small business owner I prefer to be left alone and allowed to exist to create more small business opportunities like inventing more trips for my clients or tourist who benefit the Mount Shasta area. With heart for my country, Jack Trout
Nathan with a nice trout on is always ready for more action, this is one talented kid!
Nathan way to go! Nice trout for a great kid. Keep up all the great work in school and hope to see you and pops back up in the fall.
Have you checked out the DUNSMUIR BREWERY IN DUNSMUIR, CALIFORNIA? This is a great place for wonderful grilled food and fresh brewed beer by my former guide Aaron Greener. I think this place is a must see and eat while you’re up in the Mt Shasta area. Located right on Dunsmuir Ave near the TED FAY FLY SHOP and DUNSMUIR THEATRE. Carola loves this place!!! Try the Blue Cheese Burger.
Now that’s a beautiful balancing act! My wife is such a babe!! We love to go and get lost out on the Upper Sac, looking for love in all the right places!!
Enjoy your National Forest Folks!!
The gourmet lunches just keep coming folks, if you love great home cooked meals out on the river give us a call!
What a great life being a fishing guide up in the far north of California, very little stress and plenty of good times. Getting the people up to the Dunsmuir area for fly fishing, lodging and meals, out at local restaurants is what we’re about!
A real nice trout if I don’t say so myself.
Fish on folks!
Here first trout on a fly rod, what a rush!
Jay Rogers on top of his game folks!

Caddis are out now in the afternoons, use them...
Wayne’s good friend Steve, sure had a great trip hooking into trout. (Dry flies)
Good reason to hire a guide this year on the local North State Rivers, more rattlesnakes out this year with unusual dry conditions. I’ve seen more snakes near water than previous years. (I’ll be right behind you all the way MR. Trout, you lead!)
That’s what I call trimmed beaver! Jedidiah Smith didn’t trap them all...
Wayne Westcott from Colorado hooking up on some nice trout on dries, thanks for coming out our way!
Steve having the time of his life the first time ever in California.
Lunch fit for kings!
Looks yummy to me folks....
Way to go Steve Sizzler!
Sweet out on the river on a warm summer day...
Golden Stones come out in June on a lot of North State Rivers, the hatch on the McCloud River was great this year. (Certain sections of the river)
Wayne out on the raft enjoying his time up in the McCloud – Mount Shasta area.
How sweet it is folks..
Ken Gleaves came to town with his childhood friends Tom & Burke and they rented a two story house in the countryside of the McCloud Squaw Valley, only minutes form the Lower McCloud River. Think about renting homes & hotels and eating in the town of McCloud, they badly need your tourist dollars.
Our own local native Shasta Lillies bloom every June up ikn the Mount Shasta area, look for Shasta Daisies also.
My partner in sublime! Carola Trout offers the best guide lunch in the fly fishing industry and the nicest legs too!
Tiger Lillies and Elephant Ears are some of the amazing scenery ont he McCloud River.
Trout hook-up!!! Let him run if he wants to.....
McCloud River Rainbow is one of the most beautiful trout known in the world. This trout has also been transported all over the hemispheres
of North & South America.
Way to go Ken Gleaves you are my – SIZZLER OF THE WEEK AWARD WINNER!! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLER!!
Another couple of guys showed up who Carola and guided and fed while they were fly fishing with us in Chile and Argentina in 2010 was Smiley & Pat. Now back up in Shasta to hang out with us at night at the Dunsmuir Brewery and fly fishing in the day on my raft on the Upper Sac.
Fish on bro! Thanks for coming up Smiley, Carola and I loved the new girlfriend and hanging out with you and Pat was the greatest!
So many hook-ups and great fishing on our 12 mile journey!
Breath baby, breath!
Tom Hawkins and Burke Newman have gone 6 years straight on my rafting fly fishing trip on the Upper Sac, I guess you could call it a tradition.
Tom is an expert on my raft trip and often catches and releases more than 20 trout per trip...
The views are always incredible and the runs for fishing are out of a Walt Disney Movie! (Kobe Beef thinks so!)
Nice one Tom, and thanks for letting Ken know about me and my guide service! Word of mouth is our most important advertisement and that of course is earned through good work, hard rowing and successful trout adventures!
Burke Man! Give me a call, when you have time! I want to paint my house now. Thanks JT & CT (August is best)
Tom you slayed them that day, maybe the best trip of the season, but I’ve had many this year!
Nice cromer up from Shasta Lake...
Ah, the McCloud River Nature Conservancy is always a great plac to go to fish and possible a place you can donate money to and stay right on the river.....
How long has it been since you visited the McCloud River? It’s still there waiting for you....
Mary Thompson enjoying one of her first trout hook-ups ever on a fly rod.
Nice photo by my wife Carola...
Awesome shot Carola!! Incredible detail and scenery, a very thoughtful taken photo if I don’t say so myself.
Forget these Jack & Carola Trout Characters..... I want to know why they call their dog Kobe Beef ...... what a hunk! (I’d like to get lost in the Shasta/Trinity Forest with him...)
(Where’s the BEEF is what I’m talking about, the U. S. D. A. Choice !)
Thanks for watching our adventures!
Best to you in 2012, Jack, Carola, Kobe Beef Trout & Team TroutJack Trout Fly Fishing & Guide Service
