I am out of Haulover today fishing with my son James and his friend Jesus, We started out on some mullets schools which were holding a few Tarpon (no hits) Trout, Jacks, and Ladyfish.
We caught enough of them and moved on to another area holding some Tarpon. We watched as the Tarpon blew up on mullet pods but still couldn't get a bite. I had one last spot and it's always hit or miss, today they were thick we had a couple strikes on "Twicth n Raps" and then they were done. the next couple weeks will be interesting .
Good day out of Everglades City with buddy Mitch. He had a couple Tarpon turn on the "Twitch n Rap "at first light. We were pre fishing the tides fo a tournament in a couple weeks and found some big tourn Reds. I live chummed and had a hot bite on pilchards for 30 minutes until porpoises came in. The Snook/Reds were blowing chum baits out of water. We hadf Snook to 15lbs. and Reds to 7 lbs. There was no shortage of bait which being destryed by schools of Mac/s, Blue Runners, Ladyfish and Pompano's on outside, bait run is in full effect in the Ten Thousand Islands.
The mullet run should be any day we need a serious N.E. wind, once we get te wind be ready to go! These mullet run fish can be fished from the beach, just find abeach with a fish friendly area.
I will be out there fishing from my boat because i like to chase the schools down for variety of species. If you like to fish with me give me a call 305 333 8149.Caught Lookin Charters
