Captain Ariel Cabrera Fishing ReportJune 2008

The bite has been good for snook, redfish, goliath grouper in th Everglades Park area. Some guide friends of mine also report catching large snapper. I have also been fishing Key Largo with fair results. Biscayne Bay area has seen lots of snapper, barracuda, bonefish, permit, and tarpon. It has been hit or miss during weeks past windy days.

These days will get better and see hot, calm, mornings with lots of tailing and surfacing fish. Shark fishing has been great as well. Blacktips and bulls have been the target. We used ladyfish, which are abundant.

We have also used my canoe in some of the Parks lakes with good results. Tarpon, snook, and bass have been caught. Give me a call to discuss this type of trip.

Flamingo Fishing Forecast:

Summer is hot fishing time. It has been a while since my last report so I'll try to catch up as best as possible. Let's start with a traditional forecast and then get into the report. Summer time is my favorite time to fish this area because it's hard to have a bad day. Early starts are a must and weedless rigs too. I like to locate snook and tarpon first and then stalk redfish or cruise for tripletails. There usually aren't too many fishermen either. Flamingo is full of fish in the summer. I think it's the best time of the year, especially late summer as it approaches fall mullet run.

Boat Buyers: Give me a call before you make that purchase. I will be glad to walk you through the boat and provide a detailed survey or help with any questions.
