Naples, Marco Island and the Ten Thousand Islands

There are plenty of snook at almost every turn. They are ranging from small to thirty plus inch brutes. Moving water is the key. Points, creek mouths and small rivers have been the best spots that I have found.

We have been catching some good size redfish too. Some of them have been over the slot limit. Jacks and mackerel have been slashing through the bait schools that are gathering on the points so they have been welcome by catch to help keep the day well rounded.

There are still a few tarpon around as well. These fish are ranging from ten to seventy pounds with some full grown fish milling about.

I have been getting some very nice mangrove snapper on small bait this month too. I like fish for them around fallen trees. I will get them stirred up with a handful of micro-shiners. These fish are pushing fifteen inches and will give you a pull when they come out of the gate. They also go well on the plate with a nice salad and a sides of French fries!

Mornings are best as the heat by late morning starts to slow things down. By noon, the summer storms will chase you back to the dock. Go get you some while the traffic is light. I'll see you on the water.
