July 24th, Lake St. Clair Fishing Report From The Michigan Side MICHIGAN FISHING REPORT Don’t believe the weather man all the time. This Wednesday called for NNW winds 10mph,possible thunderstorms late afternoon. Not a bad forecast, should be a nice cool day!!! WRONG!!! When we hit the mouth of the Clinton River winds were whipping the top of the waves like whipping cream. "Golden Streaker" took off on a plane and ate up these seas. Rolling along at 45mph we reached our first fishing stop in big seas. Non the less everyone was anxious to catch the big ones. The first nice smallmouth bass was hooked up and released in a few minutes. We rolled around some more and tangled up a line in the engine prop { never caught a fish in the engine props}. After untangling the line we boogied over to stop no. 2 and hit the jackpot. Each of the anglers got hooked up,with fish on calls every few minutes. After we nearly limited out on bass, new front rollded in with black clouds dumping Heavy rain . Un predicted!!!!! What was the weather mans report????? Good natured anglers fished right thru this and were soaking wet. After this rain, clouds moved thru, the sun came out and the seas calmed down Another beautiful day on Lake St. Clair. Perching was now called for, and we boogied over to one of my favorite weed beds. Rerigged for perch fishing we started boating some nice ones. Again another black cloud showed up on the horrizon???? What was the weather man reporting????? Again my anglers fished thru this sudden rain squall. When it got nice---- perch quit bitting, but we had 25 nice ones in the box. I suggested we go to one of my SECRET locations for some more bass fun. Everyone got dried out on the way there, and we started to drift over this new hot spot. Double headers were hooked up with some nice BIG bass. Even a few were boxed for dinner. After circling this honey spot and boxing a more!!! The winds picked up over 20mph. This was time to call it a day!!! Great fishing bad weather report. But Captain Frank made it a good day of fishing on the Golden Streaker. Lets go fishing call Captain Frank 305 509 1547
