Fishing Report August 28th, 2008

In the Dark

The skies have cleared and traditional summer weather patterns have returned. We are back to running under the stars and found the snook, snapper and trout anxious to take our offerings. Tonight was strictly a live bait trip with small white baits being our first choice with shrimp second.

Florida Sport Fishing Tampa Bay has an abundance of canals loaded with docks; we focus on docks with lights especially underwater lights. Canals with good tide movement and easy access to the flats are my first choice. Large was the word last night as we took the biggest snapper of the season fat 5 pounds, the trout were all 18-21" and very very fat with the snook a solid 30". Look for this action to continue with the bigger tides with the new moon this weekend. We are field testing a new product The Chill Towel, this is a winner! The Chill towel is a disposable cotton terry cloth towel neatly packaged, just tear open the bag and presto and invigorating, cool towel. Now my clients feel like they are traveling first class. We also tossed one package into the ice chest and it gets even colder. Sunday I had one on for 3 maybe 4 hours I just wrapped it around my neck and enjoyed.
