Fishing Report August 18th, 2008

Mother Nature was not been kind to us this week. Tuesday we were blown off the water, Thursday rain, lightning and wind resulted in a cancelled trip.

Friday we did get out for several hours and found conditions challenging. Bait that had been easy to gather decided to play hard to get resulting in picking up our clients 30 minutes late. The water was stained the color of tea that with little to no sun made sight fishing impossible. We did manage 3 snook and a nice redfish. Snook and Reds both were up tight in the mangroves, we could see and hear larger snook busting baits deep into the mangroves. The highlight of the day was meeting Jack Sr, Jack Jr and Jack III. Three generations enjoying a day on the water. One of the real joys of being a charter Captain is the diverse clientele. The Jack's were a absolute pleasure to have on board, super guys.

Play it safe, after dropping off our clients we headed across Tampa Bay to the dock. We donned our rain suits and rain head first into a rainstorm. Good to know we got our clients in dry and safe.
