TAMPA BAY FISHING NON STOP ACTION!

Daylight savings time has ended, and it’s beginning to cool down a bit. It is actually starting to feel like fall. The fish are also aware of the cooler temperatures and are moving into their fall areas. Over the next month, we are going to have some great fishing. Of course there will be days that we will have to dodge the wind, but it will be well worth it.

The cooler weather has caused the water temperature to drop pretty rapidly, so we have been able to some different types of fishing. Grouper are starting to move into the Bay, and we’ve already caught some great ones. I recently had a few trips where we caught our limit of grouper in the Bay. A slack tide usually makes catching fish tougher, but that isn’t the case for grouper. The slacker the tide, the better the grouper fishing.

Fishing Report

Tarpon fishing has been hit or miss lately. Certain days we were able to jump several fish, and others we couldn’t get a bite. On the other hand, shark fishing has been great. Most all of the sharks we’ve caught have been 2 foot to 4 foot long. Shark fishing brings great action and loads of fun, especially when you are fishing with light tackle.

Fishing Report

Snook, redfish, and trout fishing have all been awesome! For the most part, if you get in the right spot at the right time with the right tide, you will be able to catch all three fish. We are starting to see some really low tides that are usual for this time of year. These low tides push all the fish off of the flats into some of the deeper holes around the flats, which cause the fish to be really concentrated. Many times you can find the fish in one area and they will feed really well. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your fishing trip today!
