THIS WEEK:

The Gulfstar will start off next week celebrating Mother’s Day, Sunday May 11th with a Half Day of fishing.  As for the rest of the week, we will offer an 8 Hour All Day trip on Monday, May 12th and Half Day trips on Tues, Wed and Thurs.

The Superstar still has spots available on this weekend’s 44 Hour Middle Grounds trip.  As usual, reservations are required on all trips, so call us at 727-938-5300 ASAP!!!

Capt. Carl has decided to stick around for the American Red Snapper season opening on June 1st so get your reservations in quick for the 44 Hour trip on May 30th…we are squeezing one more in before the Superstar heads back to Montauk, NY. 

Southeastern Tackle Liquidators

The Viking Superstar returned yesterday from the Southeastern Tackle Liquidators charter with a load of fish!

On Sunday, before the boat left, Mookie had the BBQ going and fed everyone who was on the trip some of his famous Chicken, Steak, Baked Beans, and potato salad. Thanks Mookie!

We left the dock at 8pm and headed out to the grounds. We arrived at 3:00am and started fishing. The New Moon tide was screaming, and the first couple of drops produced just a few mangos and groupers. At 5:00am, we made a stop and the fishing really heated up! Many mangos were flying over the rails, along with more groupers! As the sun came up, the grouper bite really started to turn on, and gags as well as red grouper, AND mangos. All day long we picked grouper and snappers. The mates were very busy with the gaffs! That night, we picked away also on the snappers, with many limits becoming full! The next morning we stopped on a wreck and along with many big fish bites, as well as a ton of mangos! We made our last stop especially for Scooter, who was grouper-less, and on the last stop he redeemed himself with a fat 25 pound Red Grouper! Thanks to everyone for another great trip.
