Growth of Latin American Distribution a Key Focus
Orlando, Florida, July 2012 - “It was great to see Coach Bobby Knight entertain the crowd as guest speaker at ICAST’s Industry Breakfast, and have the opportunity to hook up with him again after a lot of years,” said Pat Sheldon, Flying Fisherman® CEO. “The Coach said…’I’ve been using and loosing your sunglasses for over 20 years’…what a perfect way to kick off the show!”
Sheldon added, “The show had an upbeat, positive buzz, and customers showed good interest in our range of new products for 2013. One of our goals for ICAST 2012 was to grow our South American market relationships, and we laid solid groundwork for that with distributors, particularly in Argentina and Venezuela.” Representatives of Tech Tackle – a manufacturer and distributor from Buenos Aries, Argentina (www.techtackle.com.ar), visited Flying Fisherman® ’s Islamorada headquarters in the Florida Keys after the show for meetings and, of course…a little Tarpon fishing. The North and South American markets, respectively, are a high priority for both companies and both are pursuing product development for opposing markets. Tech Tackle is currently producing a Spanish marketing campaign for Flying Fisherman products in Argentina, and field testing of Tech Tackle products are ongoing in the Florida Keys for future distribution in the USA and Europe.
ICAST provided a great venue to meet with several other international distributors as well, as Flying Fisherman® continues to grow it’s global distribution.
