SeaLife, the world-leader in underwater photographic equipment, began shipping the DC1400 Limited Edition Pink to dealers earlier this month. With a limited number of units available, this DC1400 Limited Edition Pink camera is more than a stylish and feature-packed digital underwater camera; it’s also designed to help raise money for breast cancer research. For each camera sold, SeaLife will donate $5 to a leading breast-cancer-research charity organization.

Featuring five easy-to-use “Piano Keys,” the DC1400 Limited Edition Pink allows you to take either high-definition 720p video or 14 megapixel high-resolution images of your adventures beneath the seas. Remove its tough underwater housing, and it transforms to a familiar compact point-and-shoot camera to record all of your topside adventures, as well.

Depth tested to 200 feet (60 meters), the DC1400 Limited Edition Pink incorporates a feature-packed, premium high-resolution underwater camera with a new design that redefines simplicity and ease-of-use. The DC1400 Limited Edition Pink’s five large primary control keys eliminate the confusing button cluster of a traditional camera to provide simple one-handed operation in any environment—even with gloves on.

With its raised pink-colored rubber bars, the fingertip “Central Command” lever is located in front of the camera’s large shutter button to allow scrolling through various menus. It also controls the 5X optical zoom without releasing your grip from the camera. The Super Macro Auto Focus lens will focus to within one inch from the subject. The camera’s external polycarbonate body is rubber-armored for handling and shock-protection in all conditions. The pink rubber surface on the camera’s face offers a sure grip at all times.

The DC1400 Limited Edition Pink offers six specially designed underwater modes, making it possible for anyone to take sharp, colorful underwater pictures. Its 1-2-3 graphic on-screen guide takes the guess work out of setting up the camera for great pictures on land or underwater.

Twenty-seven scene modes—from Auto to Shutter or Aperture Priority to Smile Detection to Landscape to Night Scene to Fireworks—provide optimal programming to take perfect images and videos in any condition. In Anti-Shake mode, the DC1400 Limited Edition Pink’s new Optical Image Stabilization CCD-shift technology reduces image blur caused by hand movement on land.

The large 3-inch LCD screen on this new limited edition camera allows flawless framing and easy on-camera viewing above or below the waterline. A Spy Mode autonomously operates the camera to take a continuous string of images at your custom-preset time intervals, so you can capture the perfect shot of hard-to-photograph subjects.

The DC1400 Limited Edition Pink is guaranteed to be waterproof to a depth of 200 feet. Complete with its rugged housing, it measures just 3.7 X 5.3 X 2.8 inches (HxWxD), and it weighs less than 18 ounces. Its rechargeable lithium battery will power the camera for approximately one hour of continuous HD video—perfect for a two-tank dive—or for in excess of 200 photographs. Spare batteries are available. The camera system includes 20 MB of built-in memory, and an SD/SDHC Card can be added for up to 32 GB of memory.

The SeaLife DC1400 Limited Edition Pink is available at SeaLife retailers at a suggested list price of $529.95, including a wrist strap emblazoned with a pink SeaLife logo. With only a limited number available, it is recommended that you contact your local SeaLife dealer to reserve one of these special, limited edition cameras and support the fight against breast cancer.
