Marathon and FL Keys

Returning customers Butch Robertson, Mike O'Neall and John Casey, all from Indiana, enjoyed a great day of dolphin and yellowtail fishing with Capt. Chris Johnson and SeaSquared Charters out of 7 Mile Marina.

They fished for dolphin for about four hours and saw them chasing flying fish with frigate birds diving overhead. When the dolphin bite slowed, they decided it was time to go yellowtailing. They started by anchoring in 60 feet of water and caught a couple of legal fish but nothing big. There were hundreds of fish under the boat, but the majority were short. They looked a little deeper and, in 90 feet of water, the flags showed up. Despite little to no current, the fish bit readily and they caught their limit of flag 'tails in just over an hour. Judging by this catch and others from charter captains out of 7 Mile Marina, this is shaping up to be an awesome dolphin season!
