Handy Bicycle Gadget Safely Carries Your Fishing Rods

(Liberty Lake, WA) Thousands of miles of America’s premier fishing waters are now more easily accessible thanks to a simple and innovative idea developed by a pair of fishing and cycling enthusiasts. Marlana and Pete Hall were riding along the Centennial Trail that follows the Spokane River when they realized that biking or hiking was the only way to get to many parts of the river. Strapping their fishing gear on their backs was not the answer---but the Bike Fisherman was.

“My husband and I love to ride and fish but it was impossible to carry our rods to our favorite fishing areas because we couldn’t get there by car,” says Marlana Hall, President of Bike Fisherman. “We knew there had to be an inexpensive way to combine our passions. So Pete and I sat down, drew up a few ideas and then built the Bike Fisherman. It’s foolproof, rugged, is made of recyclable material---and best of all it works!”

The Bike Fisherman is a small, lightweight fishing rod carrier that attaches to most bicycles and allows riders to safely and easily access streams, lakes and rivers restricted to motorized transportation. Similar to a pannier, the Bike Fisherman carries two fishing poles with bail type spinning reels. The rods are held firmly in the carrier to ensure that valuable equipment won’t bounce out while riding on bumpy roads and trails.

The Bike Fisherman is lightweight, easy to install and simple to use. Two clamps secure it to the rear of the frame. Rods are deep seated with a quick fastening strap---and best of all---it weighs less than a pound. The Bike Fisherman is also completely made in the USA.

If fly-fishing is your thing the couple has designed a fly rod adapter that easily slides into the Bike Fisherman for safe and easy transport that doubles as a carrying device.

“More people are discovering that bicycles are a great way to access pristine streams, lakes and rivers around the country,” Hall says. “The Bike Fisherman gives outdoor enthusiasts an eco-friendly way to enjoy two sports at once and maybe even put some food on the table.”
