Humminbird® and Cannon® Partner To Give Anglers Control of Downriggers from the Helm
Two of the most trusted names in fishing, Humminbird® and Cannon®, have
partnered to develop a system to control multiple downriggers. The CannonLink™ System Module from
Humminbird allows an angler to control up to six Cannon Mag20 DT, Mag20 DT/HS
or Mag20 DT/TS downriggers from one central 900 Series™, 700 Series™, or Matrix® Series
Fishing System.
“The advantages anglers will receive from the system are
dramatic,” said Darrell Watt, Humminbird Senior Global Product Manager. “For instance, the captain
can see fish on the sonar and adjust the downriggers to the optimal fishing
depth while the crew tends lines and enjoys the fishing.”
When the system is incorporated with the Cannon Speed-N-Temp
Sensor, the captain can view sonar, temperature at depth, water clarity and
speed at the ball all on the LCD displays to position the bait directly in the
strike zone.
Other benefits of the CannonLink System Module include:
- Automatically
deploy or retrieve downriggers from any Humminbird Fishing System
- Set
the downrigger operation to Manual for complete control, Bottom Track to
maintain distance off the bottom or Cycle to continuously move the
downriggers between two depths
- Monitor
the downrigger depth and operation graphically on-screen combined with the
sonar graph
- Set
the Positive Ion Control for the downrigger directly from the Fishing
System
- Control
downriggers from the helm or flybridge when using the new InterLink System
Module and a second Fishing System networked together
Current owners of any 900 Series, 700
Series, or Matrix Series Fishing System can upgrade their internal software to
add compatibility with the CannonLink System Module. The software update is
provided free to all registered owners.
