Northstar Debuts Sirius Weather on Advanced 6100i Networked Navigation System
Brunswick New Technologies Marine Electronics (BNT ME), a leading
designer and manufacturer of world-class marine electronics marketed under the
Navman, Northstar and MX Marine brands, recently announced its partnership with
Sirius Marine Radio to deliver real-time, graphical weather information on the
chart screen of its powerful 6100i networked navigation system.
Now boaters who
enjoy Northstar’s legendary ease of use, can harness the power of real-time
weather information to enhance safety and improve their time on the water.
Using the new Northstar Weather Module, 6100i owners can display
weather radar (precipitation), lightning strikes, sea surface temperature,
marine zone forecasts and warnings, tropical statements, surface observations
and track tropical storms, hurricanes and cyclones. The Northstar solution also
provides boaters with wind and wave forecasts as an overlay to their
cartography.
The Northstar Weather Module provides coverage for boaters in the 48
contiguous states, as well as international waters extending hundreds of miles
into the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean
Sea. The complete Northstar Weather Module solution includes a
receiver, Sirius antenna (SRA40) and cabling. A monthly Sirius Marine Weather
subscription is required.
The Northstar Weather Module is currently available through select authorized Northstar dealers, and priced at $989.95.
