King
Controls, a leading manufacturer of mobile satellite antenna systems for the marine
market, announced today the Sea-King 1800-HD marine satellite TV antenna. A
redesign of its previously existing full motion satellite dome, the new 1800-HD
offers cutting-edge advancements in antenna design with unmatched compatibility
including HDTV programming from DIRECTV® and DISH Network™. Fully HD-ready with
no additional accessories required, the 1800-HD offers boaters increased signal
strength
that ensures superior viewing capability over a broad coverage area, even in
rough seas or poor weather conditions. With the Sea-King 1800-HD antenna,
boaters can
enjoy
greater satellite viewing options, enhanced performance and true HD simplicity,
at an unparalleled price. King Controls’ new Sea-King 1800-HD employs an
innovative design that provides boaters with more efficient access to their favorite
satellite TV programming. King Controls has replaced the front-mounted low
noise block (LNB) with a pioneering rear feed design. This new less cluttered dish
design optimizes signal strength resulting in a substantially larger geographic
coverage area. Additionally, the rear mounted LNB creates a lower center of
gravity within the dome promoting greater stability, smoother motor operation
and extended product life. The durable and robust domes also use ultra-quiet
and quick servomotors allowing them to handle the demands of the open sea with
ease, making Sea-King antennas the fastest tracking models in their class.
“Our
new Sea-King 1800-HD satellite TV dome represents the very best antenna
technology,
providing boaters superior access to popular satellite programming with greater
convenience than ever before,” said Craig Bartyzal, vice president – sales and
marketing, King Controls.
“Additionally,
these models provide easy access to all available Dish Network HD programming
through Sea-King’s exclusive three satellite switching feature. With high
definition set to become the broadcast standard in 2009, boaters can take
comfort in the knowledge that our new antennas are fully HDTV compatible and,
unlike competitive systems, do not require boaters to purchase additional
antenna accessories in order to enjoy HD programming from DirecTV or Dish
Network,” added Bartyzal.
The
Sea-King 1800-HD antenna measures 21-inches (high) by 20-inches (wide), weighs
26 pounds and has an 18-inch dish diameter. The antenna has an azimuth tracking
rate of greater than 60-degrees per second and an elevation tracking rate of
greater than 40-
degrees
per second. King Controls’ Sea-King antennas are compatible with basic and HDTV
satellite service, allow automatic satellite switching for Dish 500, Dish 1000,
DirecTV and HDTV, and come complete with a DirecTV HD converter and
multi-switch for connecting up to four receivers.
