WXWORX Launches Next Generation Data Receiver for XM
WX Satellite Weather
WxWorx is proud to announce the availability of its next
generation data receiver for XM WX Satellite Weather. The device, capable of
receiving real-time graphical weather updates as well as a variety of
programming on XM Radio, is designed for consumer mobile marine applications.
This sophisticated receiver comes complete with a variety of connectivity
options, greater capability and a new streamlined look.
The receiver’s modular design and compact casing make it
extremely portable and easy to use.
The device features options for both high-powered wireless
“Bluetooth” connectivity, as well as wired connectivity. The receiver’s updated
capabilities for wired connectivity include:
·
Ethernet
Module (supplies power to the receiver when using a Power-Over-Ethernet router)
·
Serial
(RS-232) Module
·
USB
Module (supplies power to the receiver when using a USB connection)
The USB and Ethernet Modules enable the system to run without
a power cable, streamlining set-up and reducing clutter.
“Mariners are going to
enjoy the ease of use, compact design and connectivity options available on
WxWorx’s latest receiver,” said Robert O. Baron, President and CEO of WxWorx.
“The launch of this plug-and-play receiver is just one more
example of how our company is
working to meet the expressed needs of our customers in the
marine industry,” he said.
In order to receive and display the XM WX data, a
subscription to the XM WX service is required, as well as an XM WX capable
receiver, antenna and display device. The XM WX Satellite Weather system was
designed to be flexible, allowing mariners the option of a wide range of
hardware solutions. An
additional XM Satellite Radio subscription is required to enjoy XM music
programming. The WxWorx next generation data receiver is available through
marine dealers nationwide.
