NV 11/12 – Winner of the 2009 American Angler Dealer’s Choice Award

In the NV family of reels we have added a powerhouse NV 11/12: a 4.5” diameter true large arbor reel that holds 325 yds of 30lb backing with a WF12F line. A real big game reel at a mere 8.6 oz: Little more than half the weight of a comparable reel from our competitors, and effectively the lightest true big game fly reel in the World. The reel features our patented NV CCF drag system and has been machined to perfection, right here in Miami, USA. The Nautilus NV 11/12 comes with the proprietary NV big game handle and corresponding counter weight, and is designed to balance the lightest rods on the market today. Internally called the Über Arbors, our Giga Spools were designed to fit the needs and demands of salmon fishermen. US west coast and Scandinavians (and a whole bunch of friends from other parts of the world) had been screaming for larger arbor spools, so we made them. Built on the 3 largest NV frames, these spools include features such as a ribbed arbor that gives the sensation that the backing is floating within the arbor when viewed from the side, and promotes faster backing drying after use. All G-series spools are intricately ported to reduce weight and retain strength, and result in a reel weight reduction of 0.5 oz! Available in black or brushed silver anodizing, as a reel or just a spare spool. As with all NV reels for 2010, these reels come standard with the proprietary Nautilus Hooker® accessory installed on the reel foot.

The G-7 spool for the NV 8/9 was designed to offer fly fishers a larger arbor 7 wt reel without sacrificing weight by fitting it to the super light NV8/9 frame. The G-7 comfortably holds 200 yards of #20 backing with a WF7F line. Additionally, the G-7 spools offer gelspun (GSP) backing users a spool that will hold 220 yds of 50lb gelspun with a WF9F line. The G-8 spool for the NV10/11 turns your trusted NV 10/11 into a 4.25” 8 weight reel that weighs a mere 7.2 oz, only 0.1 oz more than your NV8/9 yet much faster line retrieval and less line memory.  The G-8 spool will hold a WF8F line with 200 yds of 30 lb backing, and will balance great with your trusted 9 or 10 foot rod.
