For Immediate Release Key Colony Beach, FL Keys – Included in the schedule of events for the 10th Annual Leon Shell Memorial Sailfish Tournament is a Mariner’s Marketplace to be held at Key Colony Beach Marina. Beginning at 3 p.m. on February 29, March 1 and 2, tournament sponsors will offer their merchandise for sale to the public. Included will be Mogills, Big Time Bait & Tackle and Salt Life Magazine and Merchandise. Hospice and Visiting Nurse Association of the Florida Keys will have an information booth.
Tenth anniversary tournament merchandise, such as hats, visors and t-shirts, will also be for sale. One of the highlights is an appearance by noted marine artist, Joe Suroviec, who will be on hand to sign his limited edition commemorative print, “Double Header at Sombrero Lighthouse.” A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this print will go to Hospice/VNA of the Florida Keys. All proceeds from the Leon Shell Memorial Sailfish Tournament benefit Hospice and Visiting Nurse Association of the Florida Keyswww.hospicevna.com). Since its inception, the tournament has raised more than $60,000 for Hospice/VNA. With a cash grand prize of $25,000, this year promises to be the most exciting to date! In addition to the sailfish competition, there are weight divisions for dolphin, tuna, kingfish and wahoo, as well as a Junior Division, which rewards academic scholarships for anglers nine to 15 ½ years of age.
