Catching Made Easy ~ Surf Fishing Tour ~ November 8, 2008 ~ 8 am-12 (Noon) conducted by Captain Rodney Smith

This surf fishing workshop begins at 8 am at the south end of Satellite Beach's Pelican Beach Park; then caravan south to beach accesses and surf fishing hot spots along the way to discuss the techniques, tactics and fundamentals of surf fishing; with the final destination of Sebastian Inlet State Park’s southside around noon. All students will receive a copy of Rodney Smith’s book, Catching Made Easy!

These workshops focus surf fishing techniques, rigging, catching and preserving mullet, sand fleas, clams and other baits, understanding tides, accessing hot spots, presentation and a lot more, to make you a better angler. It’s also geared to increase an angler’s productivity and enhancing their overall experience. Not only do the students learn the important steps to becoming a better angler, they’ll learn how to properly release fish, handled hooked birds and be wiser stewards of the resources. Depending on weather and sea conditions, demonstrations of surf fishing and surf casting will take place. Tackle, bait and surf poles are provided.

These Surf Fishing Workshops are geared towards all skill levels and everyone attending will learn from them.

Catching Made Easy ~ On The Water Tour ~ November 28, 2008- and January 3, 2009 7 am-11 conducted by Captain Rodney Smith

This On The Water Tour begins at 7 am at Conch Key Grille (located on US Hwy. One about 1 mile north of Pineda Causeway in north Melbourne) aboard the DolphinGirl Cruises boat (holds over 30 passengers). The focus of this tour will be to share information about tackle, tactics, techniques, and locations for fishing on the Indian and Banana River Lagoons year-round for a wide variety of species including: snook, pompano, tarpon, flounder, redfish, seatrout, grouper, and snapper.

Capt. Smith, a fishing guide on the Indian and Banana River Lagoons for over 15 years, and publisher of Coastal Angler Magazine, will be hosting this exciting workshop on these lagoons aboard the DolphinGirl Cruises & Eco-Tours.

All students will receive a copy of Rodney Smith’s book, Catching Made Easy!

These On The Water Workshops are geared towards all skill levels and everyone attending will learn from them.

Catching Made Easy ~ Indian River Lagoon Fly Fishing Class ~ Dates to be announced. Conducted by Captain Rodney Smith

This class is design to teach the average fly fishing angler the fundamental techniques and tactics to catch snook, tarpon, redfish, spotted seatrout and other inshore and offshore spices.

While covering fly casting, presentation, fly selection and other tips this class will also take a look at line selection, fish fighting techniques and how to find out where to fish.

Captain Rodney Smith, a former Federation of Fly Fishers Fly Casting Instructor and IGFA fly fishing world record holder has been fly fishing and guiding on the Indian River Lagoon for over twenty years.

These Fly Fishing Workshops are geared towards all skill levels and everyone attending will learn from them.
