For Immediate Release

Final Results for Competition Tackle’s 12th Annual Dolphin Round Up.  The awards celebration was held this past Sunday where prizes and praise were given out while everyone enjoyed great food, drinks, and fish stories.

First Place Winners
Dan Hoy and team of Hoy’s Toy won the 12th Annual Dolphin Round Up with a 48.5 pound dolphin. Pictured from left to right, Casey Haksel, Dan Hoy, Hiram Gomez, Debbie Hoy (not pictured, team member Kevin Hoy)

Second Place Winners
Joe Kessling (second from left) and his team of unknown anglers from the boat Off Duty took second place with a 43.5 dolphin.

Third Place Winners
John Rosier and his son Greg took third with their 42.86 lb. dolphin aboard Speedo Boys.

Fourth Place Winner
Conrad Mathis from Sea Rad took fourth place with a 34.5 pound dolphin.

LADIES DIVISION

Dotty Jones (pictured with husband Bob) snuck up on TC Thompson to take the win with a 29.2 pound dolphin. Their boat is named Real Pleasure.

Last year’s Ladies Winner, Penny Black, of Flippin’ & Dippin’ took third place with a 20.1. pound dolphin.

JUNIOR DIVISION (for our young anglers who love fishing with their folks!)

First Place Winner is Johnny Hughes (fishing & pictured with his Dad Troy) from the boat Majic Stick, takes the Junior Division this year with a 27.7 pound dolphin.

Second Place goes to Kaitlkyn Moreschi (fishing & pictured with her father, Robert) won second place with her 20.8 pound dolphin.

Third Place goes to Anthony Dalessio of the boat Unforgiven with a 14.1 pound dolphin.

Special Note Pee-Wee Division.  Catching her very first Dolphin is Tori Thompson from Go Girls with a 3.2 pound Dolphin!  Way to go Tori!

FUN FISH DIVISION

Honorable Mention

85 teams fished the tournament this year. 

The boat that weighed the most fish (6) was Yellow Blue Water, Captain Ed Ellison is pictured with a nice catch!

Don & Barbara Ferguson were presented a special gift from the volunteers.  Bob Hemmerle, who was a very well known South Florida angler (and fished in tournaments against Don & Barb!) had passed away earlier this year, well Mark Hemmerle, his nephew, found a photo amongst his Uncle’s things, of Don & Barbara in their fishing heyday, He came up with a great idea to have it framed.  All the volunteers chipped in to surprise Don and Barbara.  Mark presented it to the Ferguson’s which then of course prompted Don to tell a fish tale explaining the story behind the photo!
