For Immediate ReleaseALPHARETTA, GA., September 5, 2008 – Honda Marine’s full line of current production models can meet the rigorous emissions standards set forth by a new EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) standard introduced yesterday. "The EPA's new exhaust standards are based on those currently set forth by California Air Resources Board (CARB) 2008 marine regulations," said John Fulcher, senior manager, Honda Marine. "Honda Marine's full production line has met these standards, and is ready for certification to the 2010 Federal exhaust emissions regulations." The new EPA standards go into effect in 2010 for a range of gas-powered personal watercraft, inboard and outboard engines, and in 2011 for spark ignition engines of 25 horsepower or less, used to power a wide variety of lawn and garden, utility, and construction equipment. Honda Marine’s 4-stroke engine technology has set a new benchmark for fuel efficiency, quiet operation, and low emissions. Honda’s outboards share the same unparalleled durability, quality, and reliability of its legendary automobiles. With models ranging from 2 to 225 horsepower, Honda Marine’s full line of current production models meets rigorous California Air Resources Board (CARB) marine standards, ensuring their availability and regulatory compliance in all 50 states. |
