Moving the Needle from Eco-Friendly to Eco-Safe

As the marine industry strives to become more environmentally friendly in the face of concerns over Global Warming, EPA pressures and rising consumer demand, a number of companies have jumped on the bandwagon by offering “green” products and services. The Deck Solutions includes highly efficient cleaning and maintenance products for aesthetic surfaces marketed under product names including Clean-N-Green, Clean-N-Fresh and Sparkle-N-Shine, Wipe-N-Clean, among others. These products, which are offered at both regular and industrial strengths, are formulated using advanced technology for superior performance without leaving or emitting harmful chemical residue.

The Below-Deck Solutions from Mariner’s Choice goes down to the machinery spaces to tackle systems that are normally treated with very caustic agents such as holding tanks, sanitation systems, fuel systems and bilges. The Treat-N-Fresh line allows recreational boat owners to maintain and optimize these systems with highly effective chemicals that are all-natural based, avoiding the addition of highly toxic agents commonly found in these treatments from being pumped overboard into the already fragile marine ecosystem or into on-shore holding/treatment facilities.

The company also offers a line of Personal Care Solutions that allow boat owners to lower their environmental impact on-board, in the marina and at home. Wash-N-Clean Laundry detergent, for example, uses the power of oxygen to clean and is free of phosphates, dyes, chemicals, chlorine bleaches, solvents and abrasives. Again, preventing treated waste water containing harsh chemicals from being pumped over board or into holding facilities.
