FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Optimized Lowrance Sonar and Temperature built-in to the all-new MotorGuide Tour Series Motors

TULSA, Okla. (July 18, 2008) – Working closely with a team of engineers at Lowrance®, MotorGuide http://www.motorguide.com has redesigned the Tour Series Digital Motors with a built-in Lowrance sonar nosecone transducer and temperature sensor to optimize sonar performance. The built-in 200/83 kHz Lowrance transducer provides clear, clean signals at 200 kHz and is easily adaptable to Humminbird®, Vexilar® and Garmin® units via the 7-pin Lowrance Blue/Gray connector coming out of the Tour Series foot-pedal. For Lowrance users, the built-in transducer offers 83 kHz operating advantages with increased field of view and broadband capabilities when connected to Lowrance broadband capable options.

Temperature readings just got more accurate too, because the new MotorGuide housing exposes a greater surface area of the probe to ambient conditions. The result is a 30% faster, more accurate reading with no lag time in finding the “real” water temperature.

There’s no longer a need to zip tie an exposed transducer to the underbelly of your trolling motor’s lower unit to increase performance. Instead, the transducer and surface temp probe rest inside the nosecone built by Lowrance to provide the same crisp transmissions of fish-finding information you’ve always counted on. No more busted transducer pucks. No more messy zip-ties. No more blackouts on your sonar screen caused by electronic interference. Instead, legendary Lowrance sonar and surface temp performance protectively transmit from within the lower unit of MotorGuide’s new Tour Series Digital motors.

Sonar and temp aside, the hardware on all new Tour Series is also better than ever. Pulleys beneath each pedal have been upgraded to cold hard stainless steel for increased strength, smoother operation and better compatibility with the cables. Speaking of cables, higher grade stainless is being used there as well.

New shaft bearings reduce noise. Ad the variable speed control knob features easy-to-read speed settings, and it is now made of a durathane material that greatly improves impact resistance. In the end, the new MotorGuide Tour Series provides the fishing and marine industries’ best products in one motor, using technologies that play in chorus in a nearly indestructible fashion.
