Fishing Report October 19th, 2009

Today Kai and Stephan, from Germany, joined us for a fabulous day right out in front of Ft. Lauderdale. It was a beautiful day and the seas were calm. These guys have never really done any deep sea fishing before. Chris and I went right to the standard trolling spread. It took a little time, but we finally found ‘em.

One right after another, the kings were biting! We caught the limit in no time! We headed offshore to try our luck at finding some other species. Most of the bait fish action that we were seeing was inside of 200 feet. I decided to meander offshore anyway to look for the elusive mahi mahi. I got out to about 500 feet, getting one nice bite on the high line.

Fishing Report

It was a small skip jack tuna. I stayed in the area for a while, but we never got another bite. We headed back in shore on the reef, and the kings were still there. We caught and released several more to finish off a great 4 hour trip from Ft. Lauderdale! Thanks for the trip…. We look forward to seeing you next year!
