POMPANO BEACH, FL – Bumpy seas did not deter 121 teams from competing in the 14th annual Mercury/SeaVee Pompano Beach Saltwater Shootout on Saturday, May 12th. The strong easterly breeze kicked up the seas and the fishing action. Tropically Impaired/Tito’s started the 2012 season the same way they finished it up in 2011 – with a victory.

With our first “meat” tournament of the season now behind us, I finally have an opportunity to catch my breath and recollect on what an exciting event it has been. This was also our first tournament aboard our new Mercury Verado powered SeaVee 390 and let me tell you; in sloppy 4-6 footers with the occasional bigger one mixed in, there is no other platform I would have rather been in.

The 3rd ANNUAL GATE JACKSONVILLE FISHING RODEO is set for June 7–10 at Metropolitan Park in downtown Jacksonville and is surely one of the largest fishing events in Northeast Florida and Southern Georgia benefiting the St. Johns River Alliance.

The Islamorada Fishing Club proudly announces its annual Captain’s Cup Dolphin Tournament. The event will be held on June 6th and 7th 2012, with the Kick off and rules on the eve of June 6th, and fishing and awards banquet on June 7th. This year’s tournament is allowing 4 anglers per boat in the winner take-all contest.

Small Keys tournament series making huge impact in helping “to catch the cure” for CF

ISLAMORADA, In-The-Florida Keys – When was the last time you heard of a disease on the cusp of being cured? There is one, cystic fibrosis, and the Redbone, a small fishing tournament that began nearly 25 years ago in the Florida Keys, has made a huge contribution in helping genetic researchers close in on “catching a cure for CF.”

MIAMI, FL – Following through on the theme from the entire season, the Sailfish Pro Series came to a fast-paced and action-packed ending that, once again, featured one team biting its fingernails as another fought multiple fish.
