Capannoli, Italy – NavPlay, an innovative manufacturer of iPad apps for boaters, announced today the latest, easy-to-use feature of its powerful NavPlay navigation app, Chart Table. NavPlay’s exclusive Chart Table allows boaters to plan routes on their iPad just as they would on their boat’s chart table. A dedicated mobile environment for charting, planning and navigation, NavPlay uses the standard, highly-intuitive iPad interface making it easy for users to quickly learn and confidently use all features of NavPlay and, in particular, Chart Table. With satellite imagery and C-Map by Jeppesen vector charts, NavPlay gives boaters the ability to plan and perfectly define their trips using their iPad with the same level of map detail and information as a chartplotter.
With the new Chart Table environment, boaters have all the tools they need to plan a trip. By simply swiping a finger on the screen, the exclusive Draw Route feature creates a route, ready for use and customizable as needed. All the important details boaters require such as latitude and longitude at cursor points, and calculated range and bearing between waypoints are also provided. Additional information such as detailed caution area data from Notice to Mariners, up-to-the-minute weather forecasts with a simulation tool, tidal information, depth contours, lights and buoys, as well as all the comprehensive information about port marinas with references to local marine and recreational services with telephone numbers, is available for finger tip access. Trip details and navigation data can be uploaded for free to NavPlay’s NavigationBook.com as a backup or to share with friends.
“Like a chart table on a boat, our exclusive Chart Table functionality allows boaters to plan and plot routes on their iPad, anywhere, in a dedicated environment,” said Andrea Buralli, sales and marketing manager, NavPlay. “Perfect for amateur and savvy boaters alike, Chart Table is designed to respond to the same familiar gestures as the rest of the Apple iOS interface, making it incredibly simple to use. Combined with C-Map by Jeppesen maps, our app provides the ultimate mobile navigation platform with all of the details users expect from today’s chartplotters.”
The NavPlay app is available for download from the Apple App Store in English, Italian, French and German, and is compatible with Apple iPad2, iPad3, iPad4, iPad mini and iPad Air models running iOS 6.0 or greater. C-Map by Jeppesen charts are not included, but can be easily purchased from NavPlay using the Jeppesen Marine tool located in the ‘Service’ section of the NavPlay app. NavPlay includes a worldwide vector background map to ensure usability when users do not have add-on mapping. Satellite images are only available while connected to the Internet.
