I am off for a couple of days due to weather so today I am catching up on my E-mail to friends and clients. This year has been a really busy one for me, Had a record season between December 2013 and March of 2014 at the world class “Casa Vieja Lodge” in Guatemala. We had the best fishing at my Sailfish Schools and a really wonderful group at the fifth annual “Jake Jordan, Invitational, Sailfish Fly Challenge” Tournament. My Sailfish trips begin during December of 2014 and run through March of 2015 at Casa Vieja Lodge. I do have a few dates, still available and have a couple of clients who are looking to share a trip During January or March. During February and March. Contact me NOW to reserve prime dates or to book space for a team in my Tournament, we have seven teams entered, three vessels are available should you like to try your luck with the best Billfish fly anglers in the world?
During April and May of 2014 we had really good fly fishing for Tarpon in the Florida Keys, 54, four hour Tarpon fly fishing charters resulted in catching and releasing over 200 big tarpon on flies. I can’t wait until April of 2015, when we will again catch a bunch of those awesome Tarpon on fly. Give me a call should you want to fish on some of my prime time nights, I am there for just two months and plan to be sold out shortly.
June, July and early August of 2014, at the”Los Suenos Resort” in Costa Rica, is the location where I operate my Blue Marlin on Fly Schools. We fish aboard the vessel “Dragin Fly”, 150 miles from land, where all of my students/clients, caught at least one Blue Marlin on fly, Several caught 2 and one caught 3, we also caught a 300 + pound Black Marlin on fly during the 2014 season. I do plan to be back there during June and July of 2015. These schools require us to stay at sea for 4 to 5 days, and produce the best fly fishing for Blue Marlin in the world! I plan to do between 8 and 10 trips this summer, and may stay through the first two weeks in August. Also During February and March, I will be spending some time fly fishing for Atlantic Blue Marlin in Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic. They have built some FAD’s there so we will try to catch a few Atlantic Blue Marlin on fly. These are exploratory trips so I do not know exactly how good it will be? Call for dates and information.
This year during September I was lucky enough to spend several weeks fly fishing for big Rainbow Trout and silver salmon in Alaska, I spent several weeks down on the Kenai River at aktroutfitters.com with my friends Billy and Dusty Coulliette, along with Josh Hayes. My old friend Tony Weaver always treats me as family, he is awesome, I learn a lot from Tony,when we spend time together. I plan to be in Alaska during all of 2015, I will probably spend several weeks in Western Alaska early during September, and then the second half of the month chasing BIG Rainbows in Cooper Landing with my friends. My Albie Season is in Full Swing, October of 2014 was as good as it gets, fished 19 days in October, caught lots of Albies, including some real Hogs, several big Redfish, along with a few really nice Kingfish, all on fly. November started with the Big Albacore, and the weather finally cooling down, looks like it will be a really good month, I still have a couple of days available between now and November 21, give me a call and reserve your dates to try your luck against these pigs.
My 2015 show season (December 2014 through March 2015) will have me presenting programs on Fly Fishing for Billfish, Extreme Tarpon on Fly, Flyfishing Eastern North Carolina, along with casting demonstrations, at the “Fly Fishing Shows” in Somerset NJ , Pleasanton CA, Lancaster PA, Winston Salem NC, and several other locations to be announced. I will also be presenting programs at several smaller fishing events and fly fishing clubs.
I will also be working at the “Casa Vieja Lodge” booth at the Miami Boat Show during February of 2015.
