Freeman 37

Routinely traveling hundreds of miles in their quest to put clients on big fish, the charter captains hailing out of Venice, LA, require nothing but the best. When running deep into the Gulf of Mexico to reach distant waters where rich offshore fisheries await, stability, comfort, speed and efficiency are mandatory requirements. It’s no coincidence many charter captains in this region rely on Freeman cats. Although the 33-foot Freeman has ruled the Gulf for years, what makes the 37 special is the innovative stepped hull design and unique mounting option for triple outboards. Unlike traditional cat applications, the two outside motors aren’t mounted on the centerline of their respective sponsons.

With a massive 11 foot 6 inch beam, the Freeman 37 is incredibly spacious and the result of detailed input from seasoned captains across the Gulf. With over 200 gallons of livewell space, an 800-quart insulated coffin box and an additional 400-quart below deck fishbox, this pretty kitty is a serious fishing machine. Thanks to innovative design initiatives and industry dominating fuel economy, the Freeman 37 is able to cruise at 45 MPH with a burn rate greater than 1 mile per gallon and top out around 70 MPH! It can even reach 60 MPH with the center motor trimmed out of the water and can also be rigged with quad outboards!

Most boaters have strong premonitions about what hull type is the best, but things are about to change in a big way. If you’re in the market for a do-it-all open fisherman, it’s in your best interest to give the Freeman 37 a fair chance. With unmatched performance and efficiency it will turn skeptics into believers. Freeman Boatworks, 843.708.0755, freemanboatworks.com

Simrad’s NSO OP40 controller makes use of the latest technology and independently controls multiple displays and split screens, matching the NSOs intuitive program architecture to deliver exceptional performance. From engine data, autopilot, sonar, radar, music and charting software, you can be in control of it all with the push of a button. Learn more about Simrad’s NSO on page 102.
