Tampa Bay Fishing Report: When my customers asked “what can we catch this time of year”? I said you could not have came to Tampa Bay at a better time if you want to catch multiple species.

We started our day by fishing some deep water adjacent to some grass flats. We almost immediately began catching, jacks, ladyfish, sharks, mangrove snapper and mackerel. These fish came into the boat for over three straight hours!

After my angler’s had there fill and limit of these species we decided to head back towards Hula Bay Restaurant. We made a quick stop at a big flat to try to turn a few of the ladyfish we caught into redfish food. We didn’t have the Power Pole down for more than five minutes when the first rod went off. A few minutes later and we had our first redfish of the day on board. We stayed in this spot for about an hour and ended up landing over ten redfish. We also added a keeper speckled trout and a 25″ snook to boot!

The water has cooled slightly with our shorter days and afternoon rains. Look for this to continue through the next month and our bite to continue to improve.
